Joe “King” Oliver was one of the most important figures in early Jazz alongside Jelly Roll Morton and Buddy Bolden. He was the mentor to Louis Armstrong and wrote the fantastic song Doctor Jazz. I recommend Bob Brozman’s version of the song along with Paul Geremia’s for guitar enthusiasts.
